Stroll at your pace through the lively aisles as the tempting aroma of mulled wine and sweet delights awakens your spirit. the stands where local craftspeople sell their beautiful wares. You will return to the ship and will be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail before dinner on board. In case of closure on any of the starting dates: on Day 1, this excursion will be replaced by a guided walking tour of illuminated Ghent, and on Day 2, the free time at the Christmas Market will be replaced by free time in Ghent. Day 2: Ghent Join the excursion proposed: Guided tour of Ghent and a tasting of local specialties. Leave on foot for the center of the city. Ghent is as authentic Flemish as you can get, with its charming atmosphere, cobblestone streets, serene canals, and rich architectural heritage. Enjoy a tasting of regional delicacies with your guide during a veritable immersion into the region's historical and culinary traditions. Then enjoy some free time in the fairytale-like Ghent Christmas market(3) between Sint-Baafsplein and the Korenmarkt. Return to the ship. Enjoy lunch on board. The ship will begin to cruise to Aalter. Enjoy a tasting of hot chocolate and bredeles on board. Cruise through beautiful scenery on the Ghent-Bruges-Ostend Canal. Sit back and relax as the Flemish plains unfold before your eyes. Two markets are dedicated to the holiday season, the first in the Grote Markt and the second near Simon Stevinplein. During this tour, you’ll run across local craftspeople selling their wares and a bounty of sweet delights. Located in downtown Bruges, the Bourgogne des Flandres is known for its beautiful decor and handcrafted beer.(2) The brewery combines modern techniques and artisan methods dating back to the 18th century. Enjoy some free time afterwards to through the beautifully lit stands proposing everything from finely handcrafted Christmas decorations to local candies. After your tour, return to the ship on foot.
