Wendy Berkahn co-owns The Crystal Ball, a shop in Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand. The Sacred Oracle of Feathers began when Wendy, together with her partner Pete, invited local artist Tracy Johnson to paint for an oracle deck — an idea that grew into this fully realised, hand-painted collection celebrating the spirits of the natural world. About the Illustrator
Tracy Johnson grew up on the Coromandel Peninsula, in Colville, after her family relocated there from Western Australia when she was a child. Despite being told early on that art school wasn't for her, Tracy taught herself to paint, drawing on a family lineage of artists that stretches back generations, including a great-great-grandfather who worked as a silversmith and landscape painter in the UK. Her hand-painted feather artwork for this deck reflects a lifetime spent between the land, the birds, and her own self-taught craft. Publisher
