“Still fairly youthful, the 2019 vintage ( ) was hand-picked from six-year-old vines, grown in clay over limestone soils, at a site east of Masterton, and matured for a year in French oak barrels (20 per cent new). Deep ruby, it is a complex, savoury, richly varietal red, with good tannin backbone and deep cherry, plum, herb and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony. Best drinking 2026.
