Cycas thouarsii

The Madagascar Cycad or a large and fast-growing Cycad in its native habitat of the coastal forests of Madagascar and east Africa, where over time it forms an impressive trunk. Its long slightly weeping leaves are bluish when they first emerge and darken to a deep shiny green as they mature. While it can be found in full sun in tropical regions it will do better in part shade, part sun in less humid and more temperate climates like our own.
Approximately 20 years old and about 1.5m by 1m in size. A stunning example of this special Cycad.
