Turmeric

Curcuma longa or widely used in cooking and medicine. Its rhizomes are dried and powdered to get the bright yellow spice that flavours and colours countless dishes across Asia, the Middle East and Africa. It can be grown fairly easily in much like Ginger though it frost sensitive and may die back over winter.
