Cajanus cajan or Pigeon Peas have many different common names, often used interchangeably with Red Gram, Congo Pea, No-Eye Pea and sometimes it's called a Lentil. It is a member of the Fabaceae family of legumes and is widely cultivated around the world in dry to semi-dry tropical and sub-tropical regions.
It grows quite well in and needs little attention. It will send out pretty red and yellow flowers followed by small pods (legume) that will contain 4-6 'peas' in each pod. But you'll need a lot if you want to grow and make your own Toor Dhal
