Pinguicula pumila (Wakulla County, Florida, USA) - Warm Temperate Dwarf Butterwort

Pinguicula pumila is a warm-temperate North American butterwort, with populations distributed across the south-eastern United States, the Bahamas, and potentially Cuba. This Wakulla County strain typically develops into rosettes measuring around 25mm in diameter. The species produces delicate pale lavender flowers - roughly half the size of the mature plant - that deepen in colour as they age. While flowers possess self-pollinating capacity, manual intervention is required to achieve successful seed set. These plants are all seed grown and genetically unique.
