Julie Hoskin-Brandt draws inspiration from the texture of sand and the shifting colours of the sea. Light on water and patterns shaped by wind and waves influence both her aesthetic and process. Her sand-cast forms and the reticulation of sterling silver echo the granular textures of the shore and the ocean’s fluid movement.
Julie’s process moves from the spark of an idea to shaping metal with fire and texture, often incorporating semi-precious stones. She is especially drawn to the interplay of light, whether refracting through gems or glinting across textured silver.
