Valli 'Burn Cottage' Pinot Noir 2022

“As I write the tasting note for the final wine from the Valli Burn Cottage Vineyard collaboration, I note the similarities in descriptors of previous vintages. The earthiness, bright red fruit, fine tannin and apt acidity are characteristics we now regard as hallmarks of the Burn Cottage site. This marked consistency encapsulates the magic of working with an exceptional vineyard. We have enjoyed the fascinating journey of learning about this vineyard through 8 different growing seasons. The finesse of the wines from the warmer vintages of 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2022 is noteworthy and a testament to great site selection and viticulture. Working with Burn Cottage has helped us achieve a greater perspective about our own vineyards and helped us hone our wine making intuition. Above all, we are lucky to have shared a wonderful collaborative experience with people we admire and enjoy spending time with.
