Lime adds calcium to your worm bin. It raises the pH and is necessary for the worms digestive tract. The worms have a calciferous gland, which appreciates some calcium for the excretion of humus. Humates is high in carbon, minerals and trace elements. It contains two powerful bioactive acids: humic and fulvic acid. Growth and proliferation of microorganisms in a worm bin, especially fungi, are enhanced. It has multiple benefits for plant growth once the vermicast is used in the garden or on the farm. Seaweed is a powerhouse of nutrients containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and more than 60 minor nutrients and trace elements.
