Meadowsweet is one of our favourite medicinal herbs and a wonderful addition to any herb garden. Renowned for its delicate, honey-almond fragrance and graceful clouds of creamy-white flowers, it has been valued in European herbal medicine for centuries. Commonly known as the Queen of the Meadow, this elegant perennial belongs to the Rosaceae family and typically grows 1.2–1.8 metres tall, producing masses of fragrant flower clusters in midsummer that are highly attractive to bees and other beneficial insects.
It is a long-lived, easy-care perennial that reliably each spring from its underground crown. Once established, it forms a large clump that can be divided every few years to produce many new plants.
