"Various elements in my life naturally led me to explore the world of florals, embracing pastels, and the warm hues of orange and pink. My journey through pregnancy added depth to my artistic expression, reflecting the beauty of life in the delicate strokes. My daughter, a boundless source of inspiration, and the vibrant colours of spring that surround me effortlessly blended together, inspiring my latest flower series.
Each bloom holds a unique story, and every petal carries a cherished memory."

Agate Rubene is the illustrator and artist behind Restless & Infectious. Born in Latvia, Agate is currently living and working in Auckland, New Zealand. With a background in fashion Agate first started with exploration of fashion illustration which has had a huge influence on her style. Agate’s work focuses on people and their actions, capturing emotions and drawing life’s pleasures with a light-hearted nature. After studying fashion design in Riga Design and Art school Agate moved to Herning, Denmark and later Amsterdam where she completed degrees in Design & Business in TEKO and Amsterdam Fashion Institute. Agate uses bright colour palettes, fluid shapes and vibrant characters to create alternative realities. Her artworks are inspired by daily personal experiences, mood and aesthetic of pop culture.
