Gotland Wool Throw – Walnut

A wool throw with real weight to it – the kind that settles over you rather than just landing on top. Smooth to the touch, with a faint slip closer to silk than you'd expect from wool.

That's the Gotland. A quarter of the blend is wool from this Swedish breed, whose line runs back to the short-tailed sheep Viking settlers kept on the island of Gotland. The fleece is long, fine and lustrous, and it gives the throw its sheen and its hand. Lambswool makes up the rest and carries most of the warmth.

A deep bottle green with a soft diagonal weave, finished with hand-knotted tassels at either end.

Drape it over the end of a sofa or keep it by a reading chair. Heavy enough to feel like something, light enough to use every day.

CARE
⋄ Wool is naturally dirt-resistant – usually a good airing outdoors is all it needs
⋄ Hand wash at 30°C, or have it professionally dry cleaned
⋄ Do not machine wash or tumble dry
⋄ Iron on a low wool setting if needed
