"This dish reminds me of cooking baked beans and bacon on a backyard fire as a kid. I loved making damper bread wrapped around an old stick, cooked over the fire, and smothered in butter. Those smoky campfire beans have a forever taste in my memories of growing up in rural New Zealand."
