- Step 1 - Thoroughly rinse drive chain area before application.

Along with routinely checking your tyre pressures and engine oil, regular chain cleaning and lubrication is one of those important, regular motorcycle maintenance jobs undertaken by new and old riders alike.
It’s a very simple, but critical process that only takes a few minutes to do, but one that will extend the life and performance of both your motorcycle chain and sprockets! Remember: chain cleaner and lubricant is cheap, motorcycle chains aren't! STAGE 1: PREPARE YOUR BIKE
Cleaning and lubing a motorcycle chain is a fairly straight forward process, made a lot easier if your bike has a centre stand or is compatible with a paddock stand, both options allowing the motorcycles rear wheel to be lifted into the air and so spun freely.
However, if you don’t have one of these, don’t panic, you can use your motorcycles kickstand and simply move it along the drive/garage - Cleaning each section at a time. STAGE 2: SCRUTINIZE THE MOTORCYCLE CHAIN (AND SPROCKETS)
Chain cleaning and lubricating is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with your whole drivetrain, checking its overall condition.
Ensuring your sprockets (both front and rear) are in good condition and not overly worn. If you find the sprocket teeth have a lot of wear and/or the chain is overly slack/has tight spots it might be time to get a replacement. Check your bikes manual for chain adjusting/tensioning instructions.
STAGE 3: SPRAY CHAIN WITH CHAIN CLEANER
So, your happy with your chain and sprockets but they are caked in dirt and grime. It's time to start tackling that! STAGE 4: AGITATE THE CHAIN
With the chain soaked, use the Muc-Off Chain Brush, its multifaceted shaped head is designed to clean three sides of the chain at the same time as well as in between links and rollers. Be thorough and persistent, it will pay off!
The cleaner the surface, the better chain lube will adhere.
STAGE 5: RE-SPRAY THE MOTORCYCLE CHAIN
To finish off the cleaning process, re-soak the motorcycle chain with Muc-Off Biodegradable Motorcycle Chain Cleaner to further remove all the agitated dirt and grime. STAGE 6: DRY OFF THE CHAIN
For motorcycle chain lube to best adhere to the chain, it needs to be applied to a dry surface. Take time to fully dry the chain with blue roll or a Muc-Off Microfibre Towel, removing all of the chain cleaner prior to applying lubricant. STAGE 7: PICKING THE RIGHT LUBE FOR YOUR CHAINS NEEDS.
