The app is included for the first year in the price of the bike, but after that, it must be renewed yearly at a cost of $59.95 per year. Of course, if you don't want to use the app and just want to ride the bike, you don't need to renew the app

Batteries will slowly drain over time if the bike isn't used, and we recommend removing the battery if you're not riding weekly or in areas of bad 4g reception
