Designs for Health Niacin CRT™ 500 mg NE contains 500 mg of NE niacin (as nicotinic acid) in a unique wax-matrix tablet that utilizes the latest controlled-release technology (CRT). This technology delivers niacin in a continuous, controlled rate over a 6 to 8 hour period throughout the tablet’s transit time in the bowel. Flushing sometimes happens with time-release niacin, as there can be fairly large surges of niacin released intermittently. However, flushing is less likely with controlled-release niacin.
