Rudolf Boelee (1940-1925)

Rudolf Boelee was born in The Netherlands in 1940. He immigrated to New Zealand in 1963. His inspiration came from everyday items, from film and popular culture and also science fiction.

"Over the last twenty five years I have tried to make work that speaks on a personal and universal level, looking backward and forward at the same time, investigating New Zealand's recent history in relation to the present"

Rudolf Boelee has been the recipient of several art awards and was represented in countless private and public collections both nationally and internationally.
