Born in London, Adams migrated to New Zealand with his family.

Inspiration for his abstract, minimalistic panels of vertical and horizontal plains comes from the landscapes he encounters on his travels.

Adams first New Zealand exhibition was in 1982 at the Molesworth Gallery in Wellington and since then, the Auckland-based artist has achieved national and international recognition with exhibitions in Tokyo, Sydney, New York and London.
