A material found in a very small area in South Westland and prized for the beautiful blue, blue/white colours in the stone. exhibits these colours beautifully. The design is a representation of a woven flax kete - a traditional woven bag that is used to carry and store all sorts of items. Carved with flair and delight for us by the wonderful Ana Krakosky!
