Tangiwai is scarcer than jade, found in Anita Bay - one small area in Pipiotahi, The Milford Sounds. If you've ever travelled down to the South Western corner of New Zealand, that is home to this marvellous stone, you'll appreciate the beauty of this region - and this is a little piece of that magic!

Tangiwai is the most ancient form of pounamu and takes its name from the Māori 'tangi' - to cry and 'wai' - water, 'tears of sorrow'. It is the perfect stone for this marvellous pendant.
