STCW10 Medical Care Training

 

Oceania Medical is authorized to provide STCW10 Medical Training under Maritime New Zealand and IMO.

Our 4-day course is open to those who either hold an STCW Medical Care Onboard certificate and need to renew or a current STCW Medical First Aid Certificate. We would require proof of current certificates and passports.

We pride ourselves on our highly practical courses providing real life scenarios that you may face on board a ship or yacht.

We utilise trainers with extensive medical knowledge who also have experience in living and working at sea.

Course content meets current STCW10 A-VI/4-2 (Standards of Training Certification and Watch keeping) to provide Medical care onboard including:

- Care of Casualties
- Aspects of Nursing, Injection, suturing IV and IO use
- Diseases
- Alcohol & Drug Abuse
- Dental
- Pregnancy & Gynecological
- Medical Care of a rescued person
- Death At Sea
- Hygiene
- Disease Prevention
- Record Keeping
- Medicines & Medical Equipment
- Radio Medical Advice
- Helicopter evacuation
- Medical Care of ill and injured

What to Bring?

Pen and paper

One form of photo ID - Drivers license, Passport

Proof of prior learning- STCW Medical First Aid certificate (within last 5 years)

Wear comfortable clothing

Cancellation Policy: Refunds can be provided up to 4 weeks prior to the course. Cancellations within 4 weeks of the course will be charged a $250 cancellation fee
