Loopline Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil Picholine - 2025 harvest
Cultivar: Picholine
500ml bottle
A fine new season Picholine Extra Virgin Olive Oil by Loopline. The Picholine varietal originated in France, is typically high in health-giving oleic acid. Great as a finishing oil (drizzling over salads, grilled vegetables, fish) where its aroma and pungency can shine. Also beautiful in dressings, vinaigrettes, dips (bread oil) where the pepper and bitterness bring balance. Also works with heartier or more robust foods: grilled meats, strong cheeses, even raw or cured items (like carpaccio) where its flavour holds up
Analysis:
Polyphenols: 521 mg/kg
Acidity (Free Fatty Acids or FFA): 0.2%
Sensory Analysis:
The 2025 Loopline Picholine offers very high polyphenols for a New Zealand olive oil, at 521 mg/kg. The EVOO is fruity on the nose, with notes of salad leaves and tomato on the palate. There's a lingering balanced bitterness and pungency, with a very long finish. The oil has the essence of fresh rocket, with some sweetness and a good hit of pepper.
