DESIGNER INFORMATION: According to New Zealand Fashion Museum: 'Patrick Steel started designing clothes in the 1970s. In 1979 the 24-year-old Aucklander was named Young Designer of the Year at the Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards. He went on to dress many of New Zealand's socialites and celebrities during the 1980s and 1990s.'
