GICLEE PRINT ON CANVAS

The Tui is a very large painting. It took Alvin a long time to find reference to a nest high in the trees as they hide their nests so well. It’s very rare to have paintings of birds as a family – people in the gallery comment that they have never seen a bird painting like it – you can see the love in the mother’s eyes. The tui is special to Māori – it is a beautiful songbird and is believed to act as a messenger to the gods.
