Lambchop Rasbora (Trigonostigma espei)

At Paws and Claws Manawatu, Lambchop Rasboras are a favourite for peaceful community and planted aquariums thanks to their striking markings and calm schooling behaviour.

Named for the distinctive black “lamb chop" marking on their copper-orange bodies, these rasboras are small, active fish that look best when kept in groups. Their gentle nature makes them ideal tank mates for other peaceful species, and they really shine in planted tanks with darker substrates.

Lambchop Rasboras are hardy and beginner-friendly when kept in stable, well-maintained aquariums.
