About this month's material
Lent 2 - 1 March 2026

Today’s readings from Psalm 121 and John 3:1–17 invite us to lift our eyes and open our hearts.

The Psalmist promises that God is our constant protector – watching over us in every moment, present and awake to our lives.

In the story of Nicodemus, we meet a man stepping quietly out of the shadows, daring to ask questions and to imagine a new beginning.

We explore trust, transformation, and the courage to be born anew.

Lent 3 - 8 March 2026

Today we hear the story of Jesus meeting a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, from the Gospel of John 4:5-42.

In a world shaped by division and exclusion, this encounter offers a radical message of grace, transformation, and inclusion.

Through their conversation, we’re invited to see how God speaks through those on the margins, and how deep spiritual thirst can be met with living water.

As we worship together, may we open our hearts to the surprising ways God still meets us at the well.

Lent 4 - 15 March 2026

Today we’ll reflect on two rich and provocative scriptures: 1 Samuel 16:1-13 and John 9:1-41.

In these stories, a young shepherd is chosen to lead a nation, and a man born blind receives his sight – challenging everything people thought they knew about power, worth, and vision.

Together, they invite us to see differently: to recognise how God moves through the overlooked, the risky, and the surprising.

As we gather, may we be open to fresh insight, bold love, and the quiet call to live with courage and compassion.

Lent 5 - 22 March 2026

Today’s readings from Ezekiel 37:1-14 and John 11:1-45 bring us face to face with valleys of dry bones and tombs of delayed hope.

We’ll hear how God breathes life into what seems beyond saving, and how Jesus, even in tears, calls us out from our grief.

These readings name our losses honestly yet refuse to let death have the last word.

Together, we’ll listen for the Spirit that still stirs – slow, surprising, and full of promise.

Lent 6 - 29 March 2026

Today we hear the story of Jesus’ dramatic arrival in Jerusalem from Matthew 21:1-11, alongside the stirring hymn of humility and glory from Philippians 2:5-11.

Together, these readings ask us the timeless question: “Who is this?" and invite us to see Jesus not as a figure of power, but of radical, self-emptying love.

As Holy Week begins, we’re drawn into a moment of protest and hope, where faith demands courage and humility.

Let’s prepare to walk the road with Christ – following the donkey, not the warhorse – with open hearts and searching minds. Reminder

Do check out the A4 Leader's version of the Order of Service which contains a sermon, and suggestions for hymns and children's talks, in addition to the prayers and liturgy.
