Hakonechloa macra variegated

Striking foliage in sun or shade.

A great addition to the arsenal of "grasses" available in New Zealand. Hakone grass or Japanese Forest grass. An easy grass that prefers moist soils in shade or part shade. Best out of the heat and/or brightest light that can bleach the foliage. 60cm tall, spreads only slowly. Wonderful in shaded borders and shingle gardens, looks best massed panted.
