Iris reichenbachii
A miniature lemon yellow iris from the Balkan countries. These can bloom from mid October with a flourish and sporadically over summer. Ideally grown in a sunny free draining soil with rhizomes visible on surface. Grown in an alpine rock garden, border or container this plant benefits from rhizome cutting/slicing to continue good flowering. They love a love a top layer of course sand or fine shingle. Well us gardeners who weed them do! 20 cm.
A plant available due to the collaboration with Mica and Hamish Brown from Choice Plants here in Canterbury. It is lovely to be able to offer their plants here from time to time. The Browns have an incredible selection of plants for the alpine and rock gardening c onnoisseur.
