Haplopappus macrocephalus
Chile central. This is definitely the best Haploppaus you can buy with its silvery blue foliage and unusual buds. Peduncles are bare or with one to three small linear bracteoles. Flowering starts in spring and ends in Autumn with so many flowers, starting off orange and fading to deep red the two tone effect just increases its appeal. Best grown in the alpine rock garden or container in a semi shaded to full sun position. 15 cm with flowers and a greater spread eventually. Leaves 2.5-4cm long
