Moreae gigandra

A very beautiful South African bulb which is unfortunately endangered in the wild being restricted to only a handful of sites in the northwestern Cape. Fortunately it grows well in cultivation. A strikingly beautiful species with the largest blue flower. Best without severe frost, but try sheltered nooks. Dormant over summer they are best kept out of excessive moisture.
