Oxalis palmifrons

Palm leaf sorrel. Decorate winter.

A winter growing species from the Western Karoo of South Africa with interesting leaves, growing about 8 cm high. Width can slowly extend to 40-60 cm, in very mature plants. This one is difficult to get to bloom in cultivation, but the leaves are enough! It may need a deep pot to bloom. If you get a few spare corms, try them in a well drained spot. They don't spread like their super weedy cousins.
