Oxalis versicolor
Candy cane sorrel. Cute and pretty in winter.
Candy cane sorrel refers to the red and white stripes when the flower is in bud. It is a long blooming South African species found on flats and slopes in the northwest and southwest Cape. 5-15 cm. As autumn rains get it cracking, keep it largely dry until you would like some winter cheer! A free draining mix essential. Oxalis do not like frosts in the main. If you get a few spare corms, try them in a well drained spot. They don't spread like their super weedy cousins.
3 Dormant bulbs.
