Verbascum phoeniceum violetta
A classic. Compact rosettes of crinkly, shiny leaves send up short spikes of deep purple-violet flowers that bloom for weeks, a striking, long-lived mullein for dry, sunny spots.
Numerous shortish dividing spikes of dark purple-violet flowers open over an extended period above crinkly-shiny-leaved rosettes. By far the darkest flowered mullein available, it is a long-lived gem for the front of the border. Perfect in shingle and drought prone areas.
