Delphinium vestitum
A furry find. A Himalayan treasure.
Rare, finely textured, blue-violet and deep black flowers. An unusual demure delphinium from the Himalayas. Lobed silver-hairy leaves, becoming almost rounded with age. Spikes of well-spaced blue-lilac, long-spurred flowers, during summer to autumn. Preferring some light shade and protection from hot summer sun, in a good soil. Sun, if cool to part shade. 90–120 cm
In my photograph I have got in my sand bed. Seems to be Ok in full sun, but then it has been a weird year. Quite British down here in Canterbury.
