Primula capitata 'Salvana'

Violet blooms, mealy - an incredible dusty look, with beautiful globes.

A splendid round-headed Himalayan Primrose. Nepal, Burma, Sikkim, Yunnan: mountain meadows. Similar to P denticulata, but smaller and stronger. Lovely mealy, dense, flattened, pom pom clusters of tubular, deep violet-purple flowers on upright silver stems from late spring to early summer. The foliage is grey-green and powdery, silvery-grey on the underside. For humus rich, moist soils. 20cm. Not long lived, a couple of years. Save seed. Not long lived but so worth it.

Small plants rearing to go. And in the primula bed. More rich food needed.
