Billy Slater magic! The greatest Origin try of all time?

With the Maroons trailing NSW in the second game of the 2004 State of Origin series and desperately needing a win to keep their hopes alive, they had to pull something special out of the bag, and fast.

Combined with some Darren Lockyer brilliance, a young Billy Slater burst on to his grubber kick, breaking the NSW defence and opening up the field for himself.

With Anthony Minichiello and Luke Lewis closing in on him, instincts kick in and Slater produces one of the greatest chip and chases that we've ever seen.

The try inspired a Queensland comeback which saw them level the series 1-1.
