A conversion attempt to win the game saw a devastated Johnathan Thurston hit the right post but put the game into the very first Grand Final golden point.

Thanks to a dropped ball from Ben Hunt, the Cowboys managed to quickly take advantage of being down the right end of the field and it was JT again who slotted a beautiful field goal to grab the premiership and end one of the most exciting Grand Final finishes ever.
