Refractory Castable, 25kg bag (+/-0.5kg)

This is a high quality refractory castable mix designed to be used in high temperature environments where you want to cast your own shape.

Simply add water, mix well and pour or trowel into place.

It is a high density mix (as opposed to a light weight insulating castable) so will absorb heat energy providing balanced heat from fire places or pizza ovens.

The aggregates used in the mix range from course to fine for enhanced strength. It is designed to minimise bleed water.

It is suitable for direct flame contact.

You can caste your own shapes for a fire place or use to cap the top of a brick pizza oven (the tricky last piece of the dome). There is a wide range of uses for this material. And yes you can use it over our cardboard moulds but have a chat to us about that.

When using castables for fireplaces it is important that your design incorporates allowing materials to expand when heated.

Maximum service temperature 1450 degrees C

Cold crushing strength 25-30MPA

Please note that due to the aggregate size this is not designed to be used as a mortar.

It is advisable not to cast the material thinner than 25mm
