Learn Brikkevev, a Norwegian style of card weaving, and create your own woven belt to take home.

Brikkevev is an ancient textile technique that uses cards and simple patterns to twist and weave yarn into beautiful, durable bands. Traditionally used for belts, straps, trims, and decorative details, these woven bands are both practical and richly patterned.

Suitable for all experience levels, this workshop offers a welcoming introduction to the craft. Alongside the beginner project, Mo will also share more advanced pattern possibilities and guidance for continuing your weaving journey beyond the day.

All materials are supplied. You’re also welcome to bring your own fibres or tools if you’d like to experiment. A set of Brikkevev cards is included so you can continue weaving at home, with piece holders and back straps available to purchase if desired. Please note

- All materials and tools will be provided
- Food & Drink – Bring a water bottle to keep hydrated, and any food or snacks you may need over the course of the workshop. To observe tikanga, we ask that no food or hot drinks are consumed in the work space, a separate area will be available for breaks.
- This workshop is for adults aged 18 and older, or for young people aged 16–17 who attend with a supervising adult. Please note that if a young person attends, two workshop places must be purchased (one for the young person and one for the accompanying adult).
- Mo will have a small selection of optional tools and extras available to purchase on the day should you wish to continue weaving at home. None are essential, and Mo will also share alternative options you will already have at home. Available items include: Wooden piece holders ($50), fabric backstraps ($25), and additional card sets ($10 for 10 cards). Your workshop ticket already includes one set of 10 cards. Cancellation

Bookings are non-refundable. If for any reason (this includes illness, travel delays, and injuries) you need to cancel your workshop, you will receive a refund minus a $30 administration fee. This is provided you at least 14 full days before your booking.
