Further Faster Learning To Lead On Traditional Protection

The Further Faster Learning to Lead course is a two-day clinic aimed at teaching the basics of lead climbing for anyone wanting to move from top-roping onto their first alpine mixed lead.

This is the perfect clinic for those who have previously attended Snow Craft 2 or the Ice and Mixed Clinics but are not feeling comfortable to lead on their own in the mountains. You should have spent many days using ice axe and crampons.

We will be covering the basics of placing trad gear, building anchors, and pitching using double and single rope techniques.

Note that unlike previous years we will be running the learn to lead course in more of a group format this year. If you are already experienced at multi-pitch trad rock climbing, then the LOWA Iced and Mixed Clinic may provide a better pathway to transferring your skills to a winter setting (as you will already be familiar with much of the trad climbing skills we will be covering).
