Clos Pons Alges 2018

Organic Crianza red wine DO Costers del Segre.

Clos Pons Alges is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Carignan and is a remarkable representation of the viticulture of Les Garrigues, Lleida. The extreme climatic conditions and low yields of this area are reflected in the wine, which displays an intense ruby-red colour and subtle aromas of ripe fruit. Elegant notes of oak are achieved from aging the wine for nine months in new and first year oak barrels, 80% French and 20% American.

On the palate, Clos Pons Alges is concentrated and powerful, yet round and smooth. It boasts a notable bouquet of red fruit jam, spices, and smoky notes, all resting on a mineral background. Its texture is silky, with a persistent and flavourful finish.

Clos Pons Alges pairs wonderfully with lamb and, in general, all types of medium-intensity white and red meats, as well as creamy cow’s milk cheeses.
