Reinforcing mesh in yard slabs and driveways provides extra strength, reducing cracking from soil movement, temperature changes, and vehicle loads. While yard mesh is not always required by engineering standards, it greatly improves durability and lifespan. This hard drawn mesh is usually placed on top of small plastic bar chairs or concrete spacers so it sits in the middle of the slab’s thickness.
