contains organic carbon sources for denitrification. Nitrates form in the water from fish and coral waste, and uneaten decomposed food. Bacteria use the oxygen present in the nitrates to oxidize the carbon making nitrate into free nitrogen to complete the nitrogen cycle. Corals use nitrates so maintaining stable nitrate levels between 0.08 – 0.5 ppm for optimal health for all inhabitants in the aquarium.

This product is to be used for aquarium use only with a protein skimmer.
