Timeless William Morris Design - Fabric Lampshade

This iconic Strawberry Thief design by William Morris in soft blues and brown is perfect for creating a beautiful, elegant, and understated drum-style lamp shade.

Named after the thrushes which often raided Morris's kitchen garden for strawberries, this distinctive textile is sure to make a statement in any room.

This version is a less common version of his famous textile designs and has a white background.

(If you are sharp eyed, you may notice the finish around the rims in the photos is a bit, well raggedy. This is because the pictures are of an unfinished lampshade and rest assured, the completed product is neat as!)

Please refer to the size charts in the photos to choose the dimensions for your lampshade.

There are two styles to choose from: 9 sizes of tapered shades and 12 sizes of straight sided or drum-style shades. They are all numbered for ease of ordering. For example 'Straight sided 15'

This pattern is best suited to straight sided, drum-style shades as the birds will 'bend' and appear slightly tipsy when used on a tapered shape frame.

Also, please note that because of the standard width and horizontal design of this fabric it is unsuitable for lampshades that have a diametre larger than 35.5 cm (unless you would like 2 seams, which I don't recommend).

To order a lampshade in this fabric:

In the 1st drop down menu select the style and shape of lampshade - all dimensions are illustrated in the photos.

Ceiling lights are best chosen from the straight sided options and most of the tapered shades are only suitable for table or floor stands and are not available for ceiling pendants.

In the 2nd drop down menu select whether your lampshade is for a table lamp / floor stand, or to be hung from the ceiling. A guide can be found in the photos.

In the 3rd drop down menu select the ring size of the shade frame.

The options are either bayonet bulb fitting or screw bulb fitting. (See photo).

The light shade frame is manufactured to fit screw fit bulbs (E27 & E14) or, a converter (reducer) adaptor is added to reduce the hole so it can fit bayonet bulbs (B22).

If in doubt, select bayonet bulb fitting as this will come with the flexible adaptor which can be flipped out to make the bulb holder larger if needed. More information.

Delivery

My products are carefully packed for delivery, using a majority of recycled packaging.

There is a $9.50 flat fee for delivery in the Wellington area. I also offer a click and collect option from Plimmerton, Wellington.

For other regions the delivery charge is calculated at check-out.
