NSW 1997 HERITAGE JERSEY

New South Wales Rugby League sent fans into a frenzy in 1997 when they added a darker shade to its State of Origin Jersey. This retro jersey was the first of it’s kind, with the New South Wales team taking the spoils, winning the series 2-1.
The New South Wales side was captained by Geoff Toovey, and off the back of the Super League War, players from clubs aligned with the Super League were not eligible for selection. This led to the blooding of some new faces, while some of NSW’s younger talent, were able to show their worth in Rugby League’s biggest arena.
