On 21 September 23, Sprig Fern’s owner and Master Brewer, Tracy Banner, hits her fortieth anniversary of working in the brewing industry. Think about that for a second… you can brew a lot of beer in forty years.

In a departure from the classic beer styles Sprig Fern is known for, we’ve concocted something a little different for this milestone; a dark beer that’s been happily aging and spontaneously fermenting in a Pinot Noir barrel in a quiet corner of the Brewery for the past few years. Our team had a field day picking the notes on this one, getting a plethora of aromas and flavours – from raisins, plums and berry fruits, to spice, whiskey, oak and sherry. No doubt there’s plenty more to be discovered by the discerning palate!
