The Japanese made up of 5 independent parts that need to be carefully stacked on top of each other to create a perfectly balanced lantern. Yukimi means seeing snow in Japanese, the snow on Yukimi lanterns is easier to see compared to other lanterns because of their close proximity to the ground. This is is why they are often referred to as snow viewing lanterns. They are traditionally placed on a flat stone or directly on the ground, near ponds and streams to create peace and tranquility.
