VARIETAL100% Chardonnay VINEYARDSThe best grapes are selected from a small parcel ofnorth facing vines tucked out of the wind nearWaiheke’s Whakanewha Regional Park. SEASONGrowing conditions were almost perfect throughoutthe year, and whilst not as hot as 2019/2020, fruit waspicked a few weeks earlier than the previous years.These conditions allowed fruit to reach optimalripeness with no weather stress experienced. As aresult, 2021 will be remembered as a vintage thatproduced extremely high-quality fruit. HARVESTBy hand in late February. VINIFICATIONThe fruit was gently whole bunch pressed to Frenchoak barriques (25% new). Following a period of leescontact the wine was racked, blended and bottled. TASTING NOTESAn elegant, pale gold in the glass. The palate is multi-layered and complex with spice, nuts, stone fruit andgreen apple with great acidity and a fine-grainedtexture. The finish is clean and refined.
