When fitting new brake pads an inspection should be carried out on the condition of the brake rotors, especially if

the brake pads have worn down to the metal.

Any grooves or ridges on the rotor and they should be machined to give a smooth and even surface for the new brake pads to wear or bed into.

There is a min thickness brake rotors should be otherwise heat dissipation is greatly reduced causing brake failure
